My goal this weekend was to clear out some old items from closets and make donation piles. And I am pleased to say, I stuck to my goal and cleared a lot of old items out of my house!
While cleaning the closets out, I noticed I had purchased fleece fabrics years ago with the plans to make Barkley a new blanket. Well, the fabric got shoved in the back of the closet and buried under years of odds and ends until I discovered it once again!
I decided to to a quick and dirty no sew fleece tie ended blanket. Plus, he wouldn't appreciate quilted lines, applique and double stitched ends anyways.
Here you can see I started cutting my fringe ends. I thought this pattern was so cute. Just perfect for a little boy doxie.
And once it was finished, little Barkley hopped up on the chair and then the table to test out his new blanket. Looks like it's a winner! Now, GET OFF THE TABLE!!! What's gotten into you dog???!!! LOL.

Good Luck Walk
I dl-ed this blogger-droid app for my new phone. So this will be a miracle if I can figure out how to work this thing.
As some of you are already aware, I am a San Francisco Giants fan. On Fri and Sat they had the chance to secure the NL Pennant. But true to form, they managed to lose both games to test my blood pressure and patience. Well today is the last game of the season. Win or go home. For all the marbles.
For good luck, Barkley and I took a nice long walk to mentally prepare for this game today. I sure hope it worked.

Happy Labor Day!
Not only is it a 3 day weekend for me, but I also got a chance to do a little shopping. The hubby got a pair of slacks and dress shirt for 80% off at Macys, I got a swanky new pair of running shoes for 70% off, and little Barkley got a new swimming pool for 50% off! Can't beat that! I also hope to clean up the stamp room and organize my loose papers I have laying around.
I hope all of you enjoyed your Labor Day with your friends and family as much as I have. Today should be a reminder that work should always be secondary!

Flash Back Challenge 2.0
Amy over at Tsurata Designs has called upon us once again with a Flash Back Challenge! The last Flash Back challenge was about "first blog postings." And guess who was the lucky winner? Yup, that's right ME! I know lightning doesn't strike twice, but her challenges are really fun and I just had to participate again.
Round 2 is all about Scrapbook Pages. Scrapbooking has come a long way. My very first scrapbook was from a Las Vegas vacation. Unfortunately, I have no idea where it is. My guess is it got filed away in the garbage can since it was that hideous. So, my second attempt at scrapbooking was a book dedicated to Barkley.

Barkley got a squeaky squirrel and elephant for Christmas one year and would not let either one of them leave his sight.
Here is a recent page I made to highlight our tour of the Maui Gold Pineapple Plantation. I used a little inspiration from a CTMH Idea Book. As you can see, I am not one for journaling. But I left those blank blue squares just in case I ever decide to jot down a few memories.
If you want to play along, check out Tsurata Designs site. You have until Sept 17th!

Barkley Card
For those who don't know me, I have a son. He's a furry child with 1 inch legs, long body, floppy ears and the cutest face. He's my son Barkley the dachshund! Barkley is an only child, a.k.a. spoiled rotten and truly is my pride and joy. Don't let the 1 inch legs fool you. Barkley and I have entered the "SPCA Doggie Dash" and were the first dachshund/owner to finish the 5K run. He even helped me train for my first marathon back in 2005.
Needless to say, I have collected dachshund items over the years that remind me of my best friend. And that includes stamps.
Stampers tip...for those of you who have copics - Use them to customize your adhesive pearls. I used T8 and T6 to color the pearls. Gives them pigment to match your paper, but at the same time allows the pearls to still show their opalescent qualities.
Although he lacks opposable thumbs, he is truly a stamper/paper crafter at heart. He spends hours in the stamp room with me crafting away. And at times, I will find him sneaking away to the stamp room for quiet time and naps by himself.
Barkley with his best friend Mini-Me.
Supplies:
Paper: Basic Grey - SU, Daisy White - CTMH, The Stack patterned paper
Stamps: Dachshund - A Muse, Tiny Tags - SU
Other: Self Adhesive pearls - CTMH, Copics, Ribbon - SU, Ticket Corner punch - SU, Jewelry tag punch - SU, Waxy Flax - CTMH
